WHY IT HELPS ASKING
Someone we know works at one of the Big 4 accounting firms. He often tells the story about a talk he had with one of the very successful partners in the business. They discussed business success and the characteristics required to "make it". He asked the partner who the most successful person is that he knows. After some thought, the partner replied a school friend who never went to study. The friend started a video store in Durban and the partner worked there during his studies. This business grew into electronics and the friend is now very rich man, running an international business. The person then asked the partner, knowing him as a very successful and balanced man, what he thinks the friend's got that made him so successful. He was certainly not smarter, a clearer thinker or a better communicator than the partner. After some thought, the partner responded "He has never been afraid to ask for what he wants".
